MARRAKECH  DUNES AND CASBAHS

DAY 1: AIRPORT / MARRAKECH

Arrival and private transfer to the hotel. The first attraction will be Jemaah El Fna Park and its surroundings.

DAY 2: MARRAKECH

Breakfast. Tour of Marrakech and its numerous world heritage monuments. Visit to the Koutobia minaret (c. XIII),  sister of la Giralda in Seville. A beautiful tower that today works as a lighthouse and spiritual center of the city.

We continue are journey to the Saadianas Toombs (c. XVI) where the main crypt is made of Carrara marble. We then visit the Bay Palace, the old residence belonging to the Visir. A fine example of medieval Muslim culture in which the ambassador’s hall is remarkable. We continue by walking to the Jema el F´naa Park, the central point of the medina from which all the winding roads start. During the morning the place is filled with fruit vendors, baskets and sweets etc. At the end of the afternoon, when the park is illuminated, everything looks magical

Hotel and Breakfast

DAY 3: MARRAKECH / AIT BEN HADDOU / ZAGORA

Breakfast. Drive through the Coll del Ticka mountain range until arriving to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most important of the Moroccan south.  Panoramic view of the region with the Atlas Mountains in the background. We continue to Zagora. After crossing the arid mountains through the Tizi-Tinifipass, the road descends towards the Draa Valley, Arrival at Zagora also known as the gateway to the desert. DAY 4: ZAGORA / AL NIF / RISSANI / ERFOUD / DUNAS DE MERZOUGA

After breakfast we leave for the largest palm grove in Africa where the best dates in the world are harvested. Once again we head on the road that takes us deeper into the desert reaching Al Nif and later departure to Rissani. Situated 22 kilometers from Erfoud, in a palm grove. The city is attractive both for its environment as for its history given that the city is considered the inheritor of ancient capital of Tafi Lalet, Sijil Masa.  We continue the trip until we reach Merzouga and the dunes of the great Erg Chebbi desert.There, dromedaries await us to travel to the middle of the Cena dunes. Dinner and lodging at the camp.

DAY 5: DUNES OF MERZOUGA / TODRA GORG / RoUTE of the KASBAHS / SKOURA / OUARZAZATE

We recommend you to get up early to enjoy the sunrise above the dunes of the great Sahara. Breakfast and departure for another of nature´s wonders: The Todra Falls.The Todra River runs along a 300 metre gorge. A natural paradise for rock climbers and nature lovers. Departure to the “Rose Valley” in Kella M’Gouna, a famous little town dedicated to rose growing. From here starts what is known as the Route of the Kasbahs, a group of red fortresses that contrast with the oasis greenery. It’s one of the most requested trips in the Moroccan south. We arrive at Skoura where we traverse the palm grove in order to visit the  Kasbah of Ameredil. We move on to Ouarzazate. Arrival, dinner and lodging

DAY 6: OUARZAZATE / MARRAKECH

Breakfast. We arrive to the “Kasbah of Taourirt”. In other times it was known as the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. We visit the principle rooms where the Pasha’s personal chambers offers beautiful views of the valley. We travel through the Atlas Mountains and the Coll del Tickha until we arrive to Marrakech. Transfers to the Riad or hotel. Free afternoon

DAY 7: MARRAKECH

We start the day with breakfast. A day off to enjoy the city or if you choose s day tour to Essaouira (Consult for other tours) . Lodging and breakfast

DAY 8: MARRAKECH / AIRPORT

Breakfast. Transfer to Marrakech Airport. Return flight to Spain.
