The 4 day tour to the desert of Merzouga is ideal for tourists who want to visit North Morocco to the South from Tanger or Fez and return from Marrakech or Casablanca a very fun way to know the most tourist cities in the country.
DAY 1: FEZ – IFRANE – AZROU – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
At 8am we depart from your hotel and head to Merzouga, crossing the mid-Atlas and its cedar forest. This mountain range is 350 kilometres long from the south-west to the north-east of Morocco.
Along the way we´ll pass through towns like Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco due to the architecture of the houses and being one of the most exclusive ski resorts of the country, and Azrou, one of the most famous Berber towns.
Crossing the Ziz Valley and its gorges, we´ll pass by towns like Midelt or Erfoud. From Erfoud we´ll take a desert road until we reach Merzouga.
DAY 2: ENJOYING THE DUNES OF ERG CHEBBI
Today is dedicated to enjoy the most spectacular part of the Sahara We´ll enter the desert on a 4X4 and visit nomad posts, oasis and horseback ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Following the road we visit the famous town of Khamlia where the Gnawa people (descendants of sub-Saharan slaves) live, and enjoy their surprising folkloric music.
At dusk we´ll return to the hotel to fetch the camels that will take us to the Berber camp in the heart of the dunes where we´ll have dinner and spend the night.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGES – OUARZAZATE
We wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara before going back with the camels to the hotel for breakfast and a shower.While returning to Ouarzazate, we´ll pass by Rissani y Tafilalet, birthplace of the alawite dynasty and ancient capital. We then proceed to the Gorges of Todra and the Dades Valley. We leave taking the route of the thousand kasbah, we´ll pass by the amazing Valley of Roses, famous for its rose fields and reach the palm grove at Skoura. We end at Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night..

DAY 4: OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
After breakfast we visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the most famous citadels in the world where films like Gladiator were filmed. We´ll explore the ruins of the kasbah and learn its secrets.
We continue our trip through an almond grove and the Berber towns of Amerzgane, Agouim y Ighrem. We´ll cross the Atlas through the incredible Tizi n’Tichka gateway, at 2.260 meters altitude then stop for lunch in Tadart.
After lunch we head back to Marrakesh, arriving around 7pm
