Moroccan cuisine is rich and diverse. This is due to the integration of other external cultures. Some of the typical dishes share the culinary arts from cultures such as the Berbers, the Moors, the Middle East, Africa and the Mediterranean.
Although the ingredients may be simple, cooking methods may be elaborated. The food is elaborated in a “homemade” style usually cooked bywomen since it is not customary for men to cook
Morocco and its festivals
Festivals are found everywhere in Morocco, a cultural phenomenon that highlights its history. The Moussems are gathering places where Moroccans celebrate their festivals and religious events. One of the most important is the Gnaoua festival held in Essaouira.
